Echoes of Freedom

At the core of our existence, music resonates as the universal language of humanity, uniting peoples across boundaries of culture, language and identity.
At a time when Portugal is celebrating half a century of democracy, the Setúbal International Music Festival promotes the transmission of the values ​​of freedom to the entire community, especially to the children and young people who participate.

It’s time to celebrate, but also to dream, fly and go further. Through music, we are free to dream, keeping the spirit and values ​​of freedom alive, with the ability to not settle for the achievements we have achieved, as there are still many to be achieved.

“Echoes of freedom” means that we have in our hands the mission of giving voice to others, giving voice to a more effective equality where everyone can express themselves through music and culture as means of sociocultural and artistic inclusion.
In the 12th edition of the Setúbal International Music Festival, we highlight the participation of more than 1200 children and young people, through close cooperation with several educational institutions in the municipalities of Setúbal, Palmela, Almada and Santa Maria da Feira, which translates into the massive participation of young students in all concerts, led by great artists renowned in the international music scene.
