[Synopsis]
Continuing the Guitar Internship and Masterclass and Guitar Ensemble project of FIMS, A7M presents the second edition of this training activity aimed at young guitarists from basic, secondary, and higher education courses across the country, developed in partnership with the specialized artistic education schools of the region. The activity will take place at the Setúbal Regional Conservatory and will culminate in a concert on May 11, 2025, at the Sociedade Filarmónica Perpétua Azeitonense. The first part of the concert will be performed by the Setúbal Guitar Ensemble, a group mostly composed of local guitarist artists and teachers from the region’s music schools, who will make their public debut here. The second part will showcase the pedagogical and artistic results of the Internship, featuring the Festival Guitar Ensemble, where young learners and professional musicians will share an unforgettable stage experience.
The concert program will traverse paths of traditional Portuguese and Brazilian music, two cultures so close yet separated by an ocean, while also resonating with the music of Carlos Paredes in celebration of the centenary of his birth.
The concert will also feature guest artist cellist David Chew and will include the premiere of four arrangements by David Ashbridge, adapted for solo cello and guitar ensemble by Paulo Aragão.
